IF YOU DIE TODAY, ARE YOU SAVED?

Jesus said except a man be born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God.
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

You must repent of your sins and receive Jesus Christ as your savior.

Church membership, baptism, good works and “being a good person” are not enough.

THE SINNERS PRAYER

Do you believe? Were you sincere?
God knows if you are.

Isn’t it odd that if the Baptists and evangelicals are correct that their “born again experience” is the true and ONLY means of salvation, the term “born again” is only mentioned three times in the King James Bible? If “making a decision for Christ” is the only means of salvation, why doesn’t God mention it more often in his Word? Why only THREE times? Isn’t that REALLY, REALLY odd?
Why is it that the Apostle Paul, the author of much of the New Testament, NEVER uses this term? Why is this term never used in the Book of Acts to describe the many mentioned Christian conversions? Why is this term only used by Jesus in a late night conversation with Nicodemus, and by Peter once in just one letter to Christians in Asia Minor?
If you attend a Baptist/evangelical worship service what will you hear? You will hear this: “You must be born again: you must make a decision for Christ. You must ask Jesus into your heart. You must pray to God and ask him to forgive you of your sins, come into your heart, and be your Lord and Savior (the Sinner’s Prayer). You must be an older child or adult who has the mental capacity to make a decision to believe, to make a decision to repent, and to make a decision to ask Jesus into your heart.”
Why do Baptists and evangelicals use this non-biblical terminology when they talk about salvation? Other than “you must be born again”, none of this terminology is anywhere to be found in the Bible!
Is it therefore possible that…making a “decision” for Christ is NOT how sinners are saved? Is it possible that “accepting Christ into your heart” is NOT what being “born again” really means?

You’ll have to take up the “odd” question of how frequently ‘born again’ is mentioned with Jesus. Are you confusing this article with another you read? I do not believe this one stated “making a decision for Christ” is the only means of salvation. But I will read it once more to make sure.
Nope. Can’t find that claim anywhere.
I do agree that there has been an incredible “watering down” of the salvation message. I don’t believe that it is a denomination-specific phenomena. I do believe that it is an American Christian-specific one, however.
The term “false teachers” is only used twice in the KJV Bible. Does this make that concept unimportant or untrue? Why doesn’t God mention this in His Word more often?
It’s only mentioned ONCE in the Bible about what happens to a ‘lukewarm’ believer. Does the infrequency it is mentioned make it untrue? Does this mean that we can ignore Jesus’ quite clear warning in Revelation 3:16? What’s the threshold for doctrinal belief? Once, twice, three, twenty times mentioned in the Bible?

So ‘born again’ has gone from “mentioned 3 times in the Bible” to “non-biblical terminology.” That’s a quick descent! The article also uses “saved” (Paul used that term 22 times) and “salvation” (18 times; 23 if you include Hebrews).
I do agree that the Bible says nothing of “make a decision for Christ.” That was mentioned here; it was far from the only thing mentioned. Yes, it is possible that “accepting Christ into your heart” is not what being born again really means.”
Again, this is not what was stated. It does not say “Accept Christ into your heart” and stop.
Romans 10:9-10 seems fairly explicit:
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
This article mentioned several things: repentance, a confession with the mouth, belief in the heart. It also says that this is a “beginning”–not a be-all or end-all.
At the time I was saved or born again, I didn’t know how many times it was mentioned in the Bible. When it happened, I was not a member of ANY church.
If you believe differently, I urge you to make “your calling and election sure.” If you have done that, hallelujah! Go tell others. Jesus commanded us to do that.

One problem with the Christian church today is that there are too few who care about the salvation of others.
Salvation is very important. I am happy that it is important to you too. I don’t see that urgency or priority in enough Christians.
