“Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.”
—1 Thessalonians 5:14
END TIMES ENCOURAGEMENT AND COMFORT: Christians are to exhort, edify and comfort one another. But what does that mean? John 16:33 is the first verse offering comfort and encouragement for the end times Christian that will be examined in this series.
“Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.”
—1 Thessalonians 5:11
Believers are to exhort, edify, and comfort one another. But what does that mean?
Exhort = urge, beseech, entreat = to ask someone something in a serious and emotional way.
Edify = build up, establish, instruct = to build up.
Comfort = encourage, exhort, comfort = primarily, to encourage.
The Bible provides words of encouragement and comfort for the end times believer. Along with the warnings of deception, it’s also good to hear a word of encouragement from time to time.
John 16:33 provides one of these words of encouragement.
“In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” —John 16:33
In the world – Among the men to whom you are going. You must expect to be persecuted, afflicted, tormented.
I have overcome the world – He overcame the prince of this world by his death, John 12:31. He vanquished the great foe of man, and triumphed over all that would work our ruin. He brought down aid and strength from above by his death; and by procuring for us the friendship of God and the influence of the Spirit; by his own instructions and example; by revealing to us the glories of heaven, and opening our eyes to see the excellence of heavenly things, he has furnished us with the means of overcoming all our enemies, and of triumphing in all our temptations.
the world is a vanquished enemy; Satan is a humbled foe; and all that believers have to do is to put their trust in the Captain of their salvation, putting on the whole armor of God, assured that the victory is theirs, and that the church shall yet shine forth fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners, Song of Song of Solomon 6:10 .
—Barnes Notes on the Bible: John 16
The encouragement in this verse is immense: Jesus has already overcome the world. He tells believers through the ages: Regardless of the troubles you are in, be of good cheer.
“I have overcome the world.”
As a believer, you have the same power to overcome trials and tribulations as well!
Something to remember in the times in which we live.
Something to include in the believer’s end times survival kit.
Judge Garry Neilson, from the district court in the state of New South Wales, likened incest to homosexuality, which was once regarded as criminal and “unnatural” but is now widely accepted.
A Ugandan police officer claims he was forced to shoot an aggressive tortoise that attacked him while he was drinking tea at home. In his defense, he had to act quickly, or move over a few feet and weigh his options for another hour.

House Speaker John Boehner is threatening to sue President Obama for using executive actions to create laws, instead of going through Congress first. Then Obama shrugged and made a new law that you can’t sue the president.

According to a new study, the largest producer of oil is now the United States. So you know what that means — any day now we’ll be invading ourselves.

Palin makes the case for impeaching Obama – Distractions, distractions… Which isn’t to say that Obama might not be impeached: what could prove to be a bigger distraction than that? What a narrative the Corporate Media could write then!
Hair Highway (w/VIDEO) – A haunting video about the buying and selling of human hair, with some art mixed in for “relevance.”
There is already a global trade in human hair for wigs, which is explored in fascinating depth in The Red Market, Scott Carney’s 2011 book-length investigative journalism piece on the market for human tissues. China’s Shandong province is one of the world’s most important hair marketplaces.
Many today are not intellectually curious. They do not ask ‘why’ anymore, simply content with the status quo, and with being told that they’re ok, they’re saved, they made it through, and they will stay there indefinitely if they continue to fund the lifestyle to which their chosen wolf in sheep’s clothing has become accustomed.
Contrary to popular belief we are not saved and sanctified just for the sake of being saved and sanctified. We are saved and sanctified for obedience. God calls us, and cleanses us with the full and justified expectation of having an obedient servant which He can use in the manner He sees fit.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
–Romans 1:16
THE GOSPEL
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-4 – (h/t:B)
The term “spiritual enlightenment” usually has overtones of New Age and Eastern mysticism, tracing its roots to man-made religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism, and Gnosticism. Teaching the goodness of the inner self, transcendentalism, or the worship of angels is contrary to Scripture (Romans 3:23; Colossians 2:18). Jehovah God is the ultimate Spirit, and any search for “enlightenment” must lead to Him, through His Son, or it is a false religion (Exodus 20:3; Isaiah 45:5; John 14:6).

Here’s something to think about when you’re a little low, concerned about world events. At Coney Island, this guy Joey Chestnut ate 61 hot dogs in 12 minutes. Ladies and gentlemen, America is still getting it done!

The oldest living person in the United States is 116 years old. People always pester the old people. They asked her, “How did you get so old? What’s your secret?” And the woman said, “Well, I was born a really long time ago.”

MEDIA NARRATIVES ALERT“How can the reader know when the Corporate Media is lying to him (never mind the fact that the media is Satan’s Mouthpiece and Satan is the father of lies)? One easy way to tell is the use of “Why” and “How” in the headlines of an article. When the reader sees “Why?” or “How?” in the headline–occasionally “What” is used–that which follows will be a fairy tale, a narrative, a bedtime story spun by the media for the benefit of the media’s master.” “Why” usually denotes an on-going narrative; “How” signifies a story line which explains past events
